Pinal County's Draft 2023 Five-Year Transportation Improvement and Maintenance Program Open for Public Comment

5yrplan

Pinal County is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on the Draft 2023 Five-Year Transportation Improvement and Maintenance Program (TIMP) for Budget Years 2022-2023 through 2026-2027. The draft program is available for public scrutiny and comments on the county's website at www.pinal.gov/TIMP. The public comment period will close on May 23rd, and the program will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for final approval in June.

The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), a 10-member panel appointed by the Board of Supervisors, approved the draft program unanimously in February. The TAC's role is to annually review, update, and recommend the program of transportation projects, which is based on a six-month planning cycle. This planning cycle comprises three public meetings and the evaluation of 50 transportation project requests.

For the 2026-2027 Budget Year, the TAC recommended 14 new transportation projects that align with the program's goals of enhancing safety, maintaining roadways, supporting economic development, and minimizing dust within Pinal County's transportation system.

The upcoming Transportation Advisory Committee meetings for the next planning cycle are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, September 19, 2023
  • Tuesday, November 28, 2023
  • Tuesday, February 20, 2024

These meetings will start at 2:30 PM and will take place at the Pinal County Administrative Complex in Florence. The county is committed to fostering a transportation system that benefits all residents and supports economic growth.
